Book Reviews

"London career girl Amber has decided she isn't going to have children, then a chain of events makes her question her decision - or at least wonder if she should feel guilty. Her immaculate, happy world starts to fall apart when her close friends fall pregnant – and even her gay friend wants to adopt. Her insecurities collide with her tumultuous relationship with her mother, and the outcome is unexpected. This book is a great read and charmingly explores some contemporary issues. Beresford’s turn of phrase and metaphorical style is fun and quirky. Her characters have depth, dimension and warmth (you’ll particularly like Amber’s chilled husband, who is the son of a South African orange farmer). It’s perfect to curl up on a couch with on a wintry afternoon."
